Below are examples of student's work in both the EDU 1020 Essentials of College Success and LE 1220 Human Relations for Career Development. 

 

The signature assignment in EDU 1020 is to write a letter to an incoming freshman.  This requires students to reflect on the course and all the knowledge they gained.  They decide upon the top 3 topics they believe any brand new student to college must know.

 

You will also see students submissions for the novel analysis on "Civility, The 25 Rules of Considerate Conduct".  Students in LE-1220.  I expect students to evaluate and apply the information within the content of the book to their life.  My scope of teaching incorporates direct applicaion.  None of the assignments are designed for "me".  They must utilize the concepts to further themselves in personal success.  Stu

 

Students are assigned to do a mock interivew with someone in the SLCC  Employment Resource Center.  They are given feedback and then respond to what their strengths and weaknesses maybe.  They also learn how to gather reserach on a company they may want to work for in their future.  They gain an undestand of the prepatory work involved before an application or interview.
