There is nothing better than to receive a thank you letter/email from a student outlining the difference a course has made in their life.  Just recently after the summer a term, a student wrote a reflection which I will never forget (see it below).  Each term I seem to have more and more vetrans in my classes.  One student speaks of the opportunity he now has to go back to school and how the course helped him in seeing a future he never imagined before.  It confirmed to me what my goals and intentions are.  I want to give students a voice and visions of their future.  They need to know there is hope and they have the influence to change their outcomes and affect those around them in a positive way.

 

The only thing I ever need to hear from a student is my course made a difference.  It assisted them in setting their own goals and dreams.  Some of the letters below describe the caring I gave to students but more importantly the environment which enabled them to make new relationships in life, those which support their efforst in moving ahead.
