Peer Support Gallery

I have been extremely blessed to have great mentors and support in my position at Salt Lake Community College.  One of the things I adore in my profession is the establishment of relationships among facutly where we can compare teaching methodology and ideas.  When it comes to professional development, my number one way of keeping up-to-date is through my peers.

The key to being  "exceptional" can only be made through the support of others.  "You get what you give in life".  I could not be where I am today withou the support of colleagues, supervisors, and others.  We all need encouragement and it is this which gives me the drive to always be proactive  within my job and responsibilities at the the college.  I always look forward to working on committees which have multiple members from all over campus.   Salt Lake Communtiy College is a huge institution, by working with people from a variety of areas, I see the big picture of our community and where we are going.

I have tried to give to others as well.  I have mentored faculty through direct supervision, teaching cirlces, and being a Cordinator.  I continue within my faculty role to conduct training and share devloped materials.  I do not claim "ownership" to any of the lessons, ideas, and resources I use in the classroom.  I am always open to my peers ideas as we have developed curriculum using new methodolgies.  I am working closely with Student Services in developing workshops, seminars, and curriculm to support the needs of students.
