Knowledge & Credentials

I never want to stop learning.  I do my best to keep up with the newest and latest on the topics I teach.  I am always seeking new materials and incorporate expertise from those on campus and other institutions.  I attend as many conferences and seminars as fiscally possible.  Up until a few years ago, I kept current to maintain my state teaching license. My undergraduate and graduate degrees were in education.  I am very proud of my Teaching Excellence Award.

Even with the restraints of budgets, I do my best to keep educated and up to date. I attend as many conferences and professional development opportunities possible.  My career path has extended into many crossroads.  I was hired as adjunct and retained that position for 10 years.  During this time I took courses which lead me to getting a graduate degree.  My background is mostly within the discipline of education. I have tried to capitalize on knowing educational theories and methodologies.  I know how to educate rather than just being an expert in a subject area.

What follows is a sample list of trainings I attended, backed up with evidence. It was a difficult task to find flyers, transcripts, etc. from all of these activities.  If I had to choose a favorite educational experience outside of the Intercultural Summit, it woud be the retreat based on Palmer Parkers book, "The Courage to Teach".

Here is my sampler:
