Learning Outcomes
As an educator, I have been aware of the process of using learning outcomes. In my undergraduate work I had to create lesson plans for my methods courses. I determine what needs to be accomplished in offering course content. Student Learning Outcomes provides us with a direction and a scale to assess students. SLOs are statements that specify what students will know, be able to do or be able to demonstrate when they have completed or participated in a program/activity/course/project.
I was a Coordinator for 6 years As part of the job; I worked closely in developing what now are CCO's. I was instrumental in reviewing developmental education courses (RDG/LE) to meet the requirements of the newer model. Recently, I have developed CCO's for courses developed under the old School of Developmental Education. We are aligning objectives and course materials to present the standards/codes demanded. I am currently involved in curriculum development for a leadership course and a new model for the College Success course.
In my position as Coordinator, I worked with over 30 faculty members (full and part-time) and the scheduling of over 120 course sections. I was heavily involved in training our faculty in the process of setting outcomes and assessment measures.
I have included rough drafts below of CCO's which are in the progress of being updated.
